Eye Contact: Photographs by Ed Kashi

Through the lens of a camera we can catch a unique and focused glimpse of the world. But what happens when the world looks back? In this engaging exhibit, previously unseen images pulled from photojournalist Ed Kashi's outtakes reveal several subjects, such as an old man sitting on a bench in England, a woman in the financial district of San Francisco, and soldiers marching in the streets of Columbia. Their spontaneous reactions to the camera reveal a startling honesty while raising questions about the assumed invisibility of the photographer and the assumptions we make about the world as we see it through photographs. This compelling exhibit is sure to leave a lasting impression. Tues-Fri 12-8 p.m.; Sat 12-6 p.m.
