It's About Relating–It's About China
Regarded as the godfather of Chinese video art, Wang Gongxin creates innovative, conceptual, and deeply personal videos that critique contemporary China. For his first solo exhibition in the United States, four of Gongxin's installations, ranging from two to 18 screens per piece, will be on display. As compelling as they are foreign, the films portray universal issues that even those who have never been to China can relate to. Heads up: There will be a free artist talk with Gongxin at the gallery on February 16. Tue-Fri 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat-Sun 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
