Colorado Abstract Expressionism
Although abstract expressionism is often thought of as a movement created by artists working in New York and San Francisco, Colorado artists played a role in the popularizing the style as well. In this exhibition, Colorado artists are recognized for their contributions to perhaps America’s most important art movement, one that moved the art capital of the world from Europe to the United States. One of the most influential abstract expressionists working in Colorado was Vance Kirkland, for whom the Kirkland Museum is named. Tue-Sun 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
