Theater: Bovine's "Like This Show"

Social media has found its way into the theater—the paradigm for "please turn off your cell phones"—with Bovine Metropolis Theater's Like This Show.

In an unusual variation, the improv comedy production begins with the host asking everyone to "like" Bovine's Facebook page and connect with them on Twitter. As long as you tweet with the provided hashtag, your comments will be displayed on a Twitter fountain playing on TVs throughout the show—an added dash of comedy in an already hysterical show. The cast—a collection of three local improv troupes, which each perform separately—changes depending on the show, but the performance I attended last month included the uproarious all-female troupe Dishwater Blondes, Have a Nice Play, and my favorite, Dungeon Cave, one of Bovine's house teams.

If you're looking for a few laughs and something just a bit different to do this weekend, look no further.

Catch the Show: Like This Show runs every Friday at 8 p.m. through March 16.
