Even More Thoughts on Tim Masters' Release

Jeralyn has already written eloquently about Tim Masters' release from prison, where he was held for nearly a decade for a murder he didn't commit. To those that Jeralyn rightly praises, we should also add reporter Miles Moffeit and the Denver Post.  Moffeit's  ongoing coverage of the case (including this excellent series with Susan Greene) was instrumental in winning Masters' freedom. I regularly berate the local papers, but it's only because I'm such a firm believer in the importance of fearless journalism and the critical role it plays in our society. This is an example where the Post lived up to the profession's highest standards, and for that Moffeit and his colleagues deserve our thanks.
